At Joanna Berry Personal Training it is my goal to empower my clients with the most up to date training techniques in order that they can accomplish the best possible results.
As an evidence-based trainer my training sessions offer sustainable fitness for lasting change.
Whether your aim is to move well, increase muscle mass, become stronger, increase flexibility or reduce the risk of injury I can help you to overcome any barriers to exercise and achieve your goals safely.

Exercise Rehab and Referral
As well as working with health, able bodied individuals, I work with clients incorporating a broad spectrum of specialties:
Exercise Rehab - tailored exercises that support your return to full fitness.
Exercise Referral - for clients needing a little more guidance and TLC to develop health habits and lasting health benefits.
Active Older Adults - encouraging an ageing population to remain active and independent to prevent rapid deterioration and increased risk of falls.
Pre & Post Natal - for during and after pregnancy with care and guidance
APPI Pilates - improved core strength, increased flexibility, better balance, improved muscle tone, injury prevention and improved body awareness Pilates is amazing!
These services will be individual to each client, I am confident working as part of a multidisciplinary team to ensure the best outcomes for your goals.
Example of conditions I have worked with include but are not limited to; asthma, COPD, stroke, amputees, BPI, arthritis, chronic health conditions (ME, Fibromyalgia, MS etc), joint replacement, hyper cholesterolemia and blood pressure and back pain.
Online Coaching
If you are not local to the High Peak, I can offer consultations and guidance via Zoom.
I am also available for freelance work at gyms/studios for Spinning, HIIT, Matwork & APPI Pilates and Fitness Yoga.

Meet the Trainer
I am passionate about fitness and the role it plays in physical health and mental well-being. Exercise and movement are so important to the human body for quality of life and rehabilitation.
I have been working in and around the Fitness Industry since 2008, taking a break to study Physiotherapy and have my two boys.
I am child friendly instructor, DBS checked and CIPSPA registered. I work from my quiet and private home gym in Whaley Bridge, while also offering community visits to clients unable to travel.
I am an avid runner, who's goal it is to enjoy the best of the High Peak and run for joy, not pace or pressure, I am also a registered EA running coach.
I am here to help you overcome your barriers to exercise and to help you reach your goals.
